I read the first volume of this some time back, then reread it after I read about a volume and a half more and kept struggling to remember what had happened. I am currently bingeing through Planet Ladder, the classic-ish scifi shoujo.  I read volume 1 a while back (reread it this week) and am currently midway through vol 4, and am regularly flipping back to earlier volumes to remind myself what's going on.

This seven volume classic shoujo is by Yuri Narushima, the same mangaka as Young Magician, so I knew going in that it would probably be hopelessly complex and confusing. I was right.
